Jason was born the son of a Dr. of Psychology and a poster artist, and grandson of a blacklisted Hollywood 10 writer. He spent his formative years on a farm in southwest Missouri, surrounded by the beauty of the wild Ozarks hills and creeks. With his family's legacy of social justice and art as encouragement, he grew up with a deep passion for the arts, civil rights, and the power of communicating through visual imagery.
At the young age of 17, Jason collaborated with his father on his first poster design for Motely Crue and graduated high school younger than most of his classmates. He went on to help his father in many of his projects for decades, including the first poster expos in the 90s, creating the publication OFFtheWALL, along with countless poster designs, magazine covers, web design and assignments. During this time he learned “old school” inking techniques, manual and digital collage, and photography. Jason fell in love with the poster art medium and artists, historical and current, owing everything to those that came before, and is still inspired by them today. He strives to find time to work on new projects that have been rolling around in his mind for years. Jason thrives in the Ozarks with his wife and son, keeping himself busy as an artist and house elf. His days include, brainstorming, herding cats, dodging the horrors of the world, and searching for artistic outlets. He also enjoys volunteering as a social outcast, advocating for civil rights and environmental causes, music, hiking, audiobooks, trees, the sun and earth, and dreaming of worlds that once were and others that should be. |
